Money LifestyleLife & Finance #5 - Balance
I find that balance is incredibly illusive, yet so important to achieve. Most often talked about is work-life balance. However, when I take a step back and consider the concept of balance, I really think it relates to nearly everything in our lives. One day, I just started writing down all the things and actions in my life that I attempt to keep in balance:
Family, Relationship, Social, Business, Health, Personal Growth, Personal Recreation, Physical Environment, & Money
On top of that, there are personality factors too that I find have to consciously work at maintaining.
- Maintenance/Growth
- Compassionate/Competitive
- Analytical/Feeling
- Mindful/Frank
- Humble/Confident
- Marketing/Salesy
- Drive/Greedy
- Control/Delegation
- Listen/Speak
- Positive/Negative
- Change/don’t change
- Caring/Not caring about what other’s think
This is not an conclusive list, but you get the point! I’m not saying that all of these apply to everyone, or that every single day I am working to balance each of them. But they are all things that I tend to be aware of on a frequent basis. The point I’m trying to make is that whether we always recognize it, there are many things in life we are always attempting to keep in some sense of balance. Because the things we are attempting to balance are never stagnant, and our egos and experiences can cause us to lean too much one way or the other, balance requires ongoing consideration and adjustments. It always seems that those that are the best at balance, never feel that they have enough of it.
